Our first concert under our new name:
2007 - 'A Feast of Flutes'
was on Sunday July 22
at the Friends Meeting House, George Road, Edgbaston. We were delighted to
welcome as our guests The Eliza Tones Flute Ensemble from Southern Australia and
their conductor Kerryn Schofield. It was a very successful concert.
The Christmas concert on Monday 17 December with Birmingham Schools'
Flute Choir, Camp Hill and South Area Flute Choir and Birmingham Schools' Wind
Orchestra at the Ladywood Arc, St John's and St Peter's Church.
2008
- with Raddlebarn Primary
School Orchestra, Camphill and South Birmingham Area Flute Choir,
Birmingham Schools' Wind Orchestra and the Birmingham Bassoon Choir.
- Tuesday 16 Dec, playing carols in Birmingham's Childrens' Hospital.
2009
-
Saturday 25 April in St John's Church, Harborne. Some
members of the Flute Choir played in an Evening of Music and Words. Some members
of the Flute Choir played in an Evening of Music and Words.
2009 - Sunday 3 May Eleven members of the Flute Choir (+ 7 guests)
played Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D major in the foyer of the Barbican Centre,
London. Stephen Clark played the solo brilliantly. This was part of the Flute
Day run by Flutewise.
2009 - Saturday 20 June Flute Chamber Day at Colmore Junior School, Kings
Heath.
2009 - Saturday 14 November at Olbury Salvation Army Hall in aid of Edwards
Trust and Christian Aid. 8 flautists took part in a Family Concert with
young soloists, singers and ensembles. The Flute Choir was very well received. 2009
- Thursday 17 December at The Birmingham Children's Hospital. Fourteen of us
played carols in the Chapel and downstairs in the main corridor.
