Spring Concert:

This was held at St Peter's Church, Harborne, Birmingham on Saturday 24 April 2010.

We meet at the Friends Meeting House, Corner of St James Road and George Road, Edgbaston (see here for map). 

   

 

 

We have played in various concerts in the past:  
2002 - Performance at the Birmingham Flute Commision
2003 - Workshop with Atarah Ben Tovim MBE
2003 - Performance at the 1st Birmingham Festival of Flutes
2003 - Performance at the Christmas Service at Birmingham Children's Hospital
2004 - Concert at St Paul's Church, Birmingham with a chamber ensemble and choir from the Coventry Performing Arts Service
2004 - Performance as part of the Harborne Carnival
2005 - Performance with Atarah Ben Tovim and Vieri Bottazzini as part of the Birmingham Festival of Flutes
2006 - Performance with Sarah Newbold and 90 other flute players from around the City as part of the  Birmingham Festival of Flutes. At Christmas the Birmingham Flute Choir played carols at the Blood Donors' Centre in the middle of Birmingham. We had a captive audience!

 

Our first concert under our new name: 
2007 - 'A Feast of Flutes' was on Sunday July 22 at the Friends Meeting House, George Road, Edgbaston. We were delighted to welcome as our guests The Eliza Tones Flute Ensemble from Southern Australia and their conductor Kerryn Schofield. It was a very successful concert.
The Christmas concert on Monday 17 December with Birmingham Schools' Flute Choir, Camp Hill and South Area Flute Choir and Birmingham Schools' Wind Orchestra at the Ladywood Arc, St John's and St Peter's Church.
2008
- with Raddlebarn Primary School Orchestra, Camphill and South Birmingham Area Flute  Choir, Birmingham Schools' Wind Orchestra and the Birmingham Bassoon Choir.
- Tuesday 16 Dec, playing carols in Birmingham's Childrens' Hospital.
2009
- Saturday 25 April in St John's Church, Harborne. Some members of the Flute Choir played in an Evening of Music and Words. Some members of the Flute Choir played in an Evening of Music and Words.
2009 -  Sunday 3 May
Eleven members of the Flute Choir (+ 7 guests) played Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D major in the foyer of the Barbican Centre, London. Stephen Clark played the solo brilliantly. This was part of the Flute Day run by Flutewise.
2009 - Saturday 20 June Flute Chamber Day
at Colmore Junior School, Kings Heath.
2009 - Saturday 14 November at Olbury Salvation Army Hall in aid of Edwards Trust and Christian Aid. 8 flautists took part in a Family Concert with young soloists, singers and ensembles. The Flute Choir was very well received.
2009 - Thursday 17 December at The Birmingham Children's Hospital. Fourteen of us played carols in the Chapel and downstairs in the main corridor.
2010 - Saturday 24 April in St Peter's Church, Harborne. First major solo concert. 21 players.
